Wine for the winter!

Its cold winter out here, and what better way to celebrate this chill than a glass of humble wine! Wine happens to be for most of us, a chance to live an upper lifestyle that we aspire to reach for. And, more so often wine is also that solace which we usually seek. If you are one of those wine connoisseurs, then this place is where you should be heading to. One of the famous grape growing destinations in India is Nasik, in which are situated Sula Vineyards.

Sula vineyards which was formed in the year 1997, by Stanford Graduate- Rajeev Samant, is rated as India’s premium wineries brand to date. Sula was initially a 30 acre family estate, which has now massively expanded into huge 1500 acres farm. It produces premium quality wines like the Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Zinfandel, Merlot, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc and Sula is also prominent in producing India’s first Zinfandel Rose in 2003.

Nasik is a beautiful place, having extremes of both weathers. When it is cold else where, it’s chilly in Nasik and the same holds true with the summer season as well. Nasik is lucky to have a climate that stands at par with other wine growing regions like Spain, Australia and California.

What is the use if you could only read and marvel about this Indian wonder, but can’t experience them on our own? Yes you guessed it right; you can visit this winery and taste their premium quality wine as well, all at a very accomadable price. The public gets a chance to see this breath taking spectacle and serene expansion of grape yards at the cost of Rs.100. winery tours usually happen between 11:30 to 5:30 and it takes 45 minutes of walking to enjoy this fertile greenery.

One of the most significant features of this winery is that there is a sprawling 2000 square feet room which happens to be the tasting room of the wineries, where frequently all guests are given a chance to taste India’s very own premium wine brand. Other than being a tasting room it also contains a colossal balcony that sums up a panoramic view of Sula and nearby area dindori.

If a weekend trip is on your mind then do not worry, Sula has solutions for that too. Due to growing public demand, Sula has constructed a few bungalows “Beyond” for visitors to spend a night or two enjoying this heaven close home.

Come be a part of this wine culture, and plan your unique week end trip with family and friends!
