Zimbabwe, takes its name from the Zambezi River that flows to the north eastern border of the country. Zimbabwe in many ways is truly, Africa’s paradise on earth. A country superbly popular for its amazing flora and fauna, and thrilling safari rides has an exhausted history behind it. Zimbabwe for a lot of years came under the British rule, and every second man stepping in to this paradise went around digging for gold mines. King Solomon’s gold mines, I am sure you have heard of this name in films, folk tales and comics. Yes it was really a part of their nation’s past, and it is still rumored that there is lot of gold hidden somewhere in the grasslands.

If you are a lover of canoeing and abseil then the places to head out for are Kariba City, Mana Pools and Eastern Highlands. Exotic flora and fauna, with breath taking scenery and a calm relaxed holiday is what you are looking out for then a visit to Zambia is essential. At Zambia, you can take your kids out for fishing at the bream farm chawara harbor, or just enjoy yourself at the lake crocodile farm(amidst the crocodiles , of course!), have a great dinner consisting of local and international delicacy by the lake side , and then go for a night safari.

Zimbabwe is also famous for many a parks like the Matsudana National Parks, and Kyle Recreational Park. Weather in Zimbabwe is usually always, hot and humid. You will be surprised to know that this is one of the few African countries that had a literacy rate of almost 90% among adults. And yet has very rich and strongly bonded tribal societies. The staple diet of people in Zimbabwe usually is meat, beef and chicken. For vegetarians, they have a lot of starch in their diet, they consume corn meal, almost with everything, and porridge is also something that they eat frequently.
