Reef World at the Great Barrier Reef , Australia is slated to open in 2010. This eco friendly hotel has been designed by eminent British architect Richard Hywel Evans. Reefworld in its endeavor to remain the environment friendly and preserve the delicate eco system and coral reefs while use turbines, solar panels and underwater trickle charge generators for its power and heat requirements.
The Reefworld plan seems to have met the approval of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority. The hotel is likely to contain a reef and coral research center along with the eight underwater bedrooms, glass walled bathrooms and an underwater spa too.
With another year to go, Reefworld will have a lot to prove and accomplish apart from building up a loyal guest list. The Reefworld will have to show and prove its dedication towards a long treasured marvel of the world – “The Great Barrier Reef “.
